New York Times Reporter Rebate Publication by Eduardo Bolsonaro

The New York Times reporter, journalist Jack Nicas reacted to an Eduardo Bolsonaro publication on a Jair Bolsonaro judgment of the Supreme Court (STF) judgment.

In the post, Eduardo stated that the newspaper had spoken out about “the abuses committed” by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. In comment in the same publication, Nica argued that Eduardo Bolsonaro had suppressed excerpts from the report.

“I wrote this article and, unfortunately, Eduardo omitted several parts in this post. Here is what we wrote,” said The New York Times reporter, sharing the full text.

Omitted stretch

The part of the article cited by journalist Jack Nicas said that, on the eve of Bolsonaro’s trial for coup attempt, “many Brazilians – and many Americans watching from afar – see this moment as a triumph of democracy.”

“Brazil, which emerged from a brutal dictatorship just 40 years ago, will have achieved something that the United States failed to: take a former president to trial for criminal accusations that he tried to cling to power after losing an election,” says Nicas’s text.

Already in the images shared by Eduardo Bolsonaro, the report begins in the next paragraph: “However, the way Brazil did this left the nation around with uncomfortable questions about the very democracy it sought to protect.”

“Not even The New York Times, identified with the left, can hide the abuses of Moraes,” wrote Eduardo Bolsonaro in a social network post.
