Lando Norris left the Netherlands last weekend, quite frustrated. The British pilot suffered a mechanical failure in his McLaren and had to leave the Zandvoort Grand Prix.
The problem happened seven turns from the flag, just when Norris diminished the distance to Pastri, the mate of automaker and leader of the race. The rival won while the Englishman had to leave the race.
. The difference was nine before the race, but after the flag, it was 34 points.
“I just want to eat a hamburger and go home. It was nothing that caused fear. But of course it is disappointing. Let’s wait until the end of the year, but if I lose the world title because of this flaw, it will certainly be difficult. I can not complain. Sky Sports F1.
“It’s frustrating, it’s not like I’m happy with today. It hurts to lose 25 points, could have been seven points, it would have been less. I just have to keep fighting, keep doing what I can. I was fast today. I thought it could fight for victory. If you are fighting for victory here, it is usually a good job,” he added.
Although the result was not the ideal, Norris was also optimistic in remembering that he surpassed Max Verstappen, four -time world champion, easily and had been able to shorten the distance to Piostri before the car “leave him in hand.”
“It’s impossible to go beyond here, so it was a good race. All I expected was to stay within 5s, so I was happy to have been able to stay on the margin of 1s5 to 2s. It doesn’t look, but it was an impressive race on our part, with dirty air and the difficulty with the tires and temperatures when they are following,” he said.
The next Formula 1 race will be on September 7 at the Italian GP.
