Who is Piotr Szczerek, the man who took the child’s cap at US Open?
Szczerek is CEO of the Drogbruk paving company and one of the sponsors of the Polish tennis Federation. With the negative repercussion of the case, Szczerek disabled his social networks, but returned on Monday to apologize.
– Due to the situation that happened during the match of Kamil Majchrzak at US Open, I would like to apologize to the injured boy, his family, as well as all the fans and the player himself. I made a huge mistake. In the emotion, in the crowd, celebrating after the victory, I was convinced that the tennis player handed the hat toward me – to my children, who asked for autographs before, ”said Szczerek, who continued.
“Today I know it seemed that I took him from the child.” It was not my intention, but that doesn’t change the fact that I hurt the boy and disappointed the fans. The cap was given to the boy, and I apologize to the family. I hope, in part, that you have noticed the pain that was caused, ”wrote the CEO.

After all the repercussions of the case, tennis player Kamil Majchrzak found the boy and gave him another cap, and take pictures and give autographs.
