Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) has banned marketing, distribution, manufacture, import, handling, advertising and use of any type of glucose meter ring. The determination was published on Tuesday (2).

The glucose metering ring promises to measure glucose, oxygen and cardiac activity levels through a ring without the need to remove blood by needle bites.

See the glucose meters that were prohibited:

  • Glucomax acupressive ring (all)
  • Glicomax (all)
  • Glucomax (all)

“None of the products are proven efficacy or health registration with Anvisa. In addition, ads use images of famous personalities to deceive consumers,” Anvisa said in a statement.
