Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro He said on Monday that Venezuela faced “the greatest threat in the last 100 years”. This was stated in connection with the reports on the posting of eight US war ships to the southern Caribbean in the drug smuggling operation. At the same time, Washington accuses Madura of management of a drug cartel and doubled the reward for his catch to $ 50 million.

According to AFP, Maduro said at a meeting with foreign journalists in Caracas that eight US military ships equipped with approximately 1200 missiles were heading for Venezuela. He declared that Venezuela is maximally prepared to defend himself. Venezuelan management announced patrol in territorial waters and mobilization of more than four million members of the militia.

At the same time, the Venezuelan President regretted the interruption of the communication channels with Washington and warned that his country “would never give off blackmail or threats”. At a press conference, he also accused US Minister of Foreign Affairs Marc Rubia of wanting to put President Donald Trump into “bloody massacres against the Venezuelan people”.

Donald Trump’s administration uses a particularly hard rhetoric to Madur. Repeatedly described it as “illegitimate president” and accused him of helping in international drug trade. According to US, Maduro is led by the SLNC (Cártel de Los Soles), which Washington considers to be a terrorist organization.

In early August, the US doubled the reward for Madurovo’s detention to $ 50 million. The Venezuelan President has accused the United States of trying to change the regime in his country and launched a nationwide campaign to recruit thousands of militia members.
