Vietnam celebrates 80 years of independence with unprecedented parade

Anniversary of the Birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietname – September 2, 1945 – It was marked with a large military parade.

Vietnam celebrated this Tuesday 80 years of independence from French dominance with the largest military parade ever in the country.

The procession displayed 40,000 military and civilians, war tanks, drones, radar systems, missiles, and other artillery pieces, all flying over helicopters and airplanes. Also military personnel from China and Russia participated in the military parade.

Hundreds of thousands of people watched the parade,We slept on the street to secure the best place in the front line.

On September 2, 1945, in the BA Dinh Square of the capital, the revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh declared the birth of the Vietname Democratic Republic, taking advantage of the weakening of the French colonial power and the removal of the Japanese occupant.

Years of war followed. French forces would only leave Vietnam definitively after their defeat in Dien Bien Phu on May 7, 1954.
