The former president (PL) will not participate in the second day of trial of the attempted coup at the time, scheduled for Wednesday (3). Just like this Tuesday, his defense reported that he is still weakened. According to lawyer Celso Vilardi, Bolsonaro “is not well” and is unable to attend. Tomorrow’s session will have the oral support of four defendants who have not yet spoken, among them the former president himself. Earlier, Vilardi explained that Bolsonaro even considered to go in person to the trial, but symptoms of hiccup vomiting and crises, associated with an esophagitis and gastritis framework, made the presence unfeasible.

Being under house arrest, Bolsonaro could only leave his residence with prior permission of Minister Alexandre de Moraes. In addition, travel would require police escort and constant monitoring, with the obligation to return before 19h. This Tuesday, the session was scheduled until this time, but ended early. On Wednesday, the works take place only in the morning.

The defense can still request Moraes authorization to follow Bolsonaro to follow the next sessions, as the trial must extend until September 12. In March, the former president personally attended the Supreme Court during the analysis of receiving the complaint.

Another defendant who was not present on Tuesday was Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, a case whistleblower and former ordinant of orders. He should not attend in person. His defense was the first to comment, shortly after the accusation presented by the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, and the reading of the report of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who opened the session.
