The latest in Chinese military equipment then paraded on the huge Tiananmen Square, Beijing’s Nevralic Center, under the applause of an enthusiastic crowd and the sound of triumphant music
China revealed on Wednesday, during a military parade, an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of transporting a nuclear warhead, among a series of new equipment that allows us to show the dissuasion force in the face of the United States.
The event in Beijing, closely accompanied by military observers, was attended by several foreign leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
In a speech given before the parade, which marked the 80th anniversary of the Chinese victory over Japan in World War II (1939-1945), Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the irreversible character of the country’s Renaissance.
The most modern in Chinese military equipment then paraded on the huge Tiananmen Square, Beijing’s Nevalgic Center, under the applause of an enthusiastic crowd and the sound of triumphant music.
A new nuclear weapon
Among the news was the DF-5C, an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) with impressive dimensions, which provoked the applause of the crowd.
Presented in imposing camouflaged colors, these weapons, which can simultaneously transport several nuclear warheads, quintessential dissuasion symbols, belong to the Dongfeng series.
According to the Global Times state newspaper, the DF-5C, the new version of the existing DF-5, is able to reach anywhere on Earth.
“He is kept all the time to dissuade effectively, prevent wars (…) and contribute to world stability,” said the tabloid, known for his nationalist tone.
Submarine drones
Two submarine drones of impressive and torpedo dimensions were presented, the AJX002 and the HSU100.
The first will be intended for recognition, the defense expert Alex Luck told AFP.
The second “is more mysterious, but may be able to launch mines without crew,” he admitted.
China is still behind the United States in terms of surface navy projection power.
But, according to the Site Specialized Naval News, it has the world’s largest program of “large -sized autonomous submarine robots”, with at least five types ever launched into the sea.
Eagles ”
With several meters in length and mounted on trucks, four new anti-navy missiles-YJ-15, YJ-17, YJ-19 and YJ-20-were also presented at the Parade in Beijing.
YJ is the abbreviation of “Ying Ji” (“Eagle Attack” in Chinese).
These missiles can be launched from vessels or planes and were designed to inflict critical damage to large ships.
YJ-17, YJ-19 and YJ-20 models can be hypersonic, ie flying at least five times the speed of sound.
These weapons can play a crucial role against the US Navy or in case of conflict in sensitive areas of the Taiwan Strait or the South China Sea.
Arma laser
Much commented on the Internet before the parade and therefore long awaited, Military vehicles were displayed in long Ly-1 laser weapons, white devices with blue screens.
Described on an Internet account linked to the Chinese army as the “most powerful laser air defense system in the world”, these weapons had already been observed in 2024, but “without clear images,” said Alex Luck.
The LY-1 system is intended to be installed on ships and seems at least “to be in advanced testing,” added Luck.
Also developing in the United States, these so -called “targeted energy” weapons (AED) can inflict significant damage with great accuracy, at a relatively reduced cost cost.
Ships without crew
In addition to submarine drones, several non -crew boats were presented, including surface ships for different military operations.
These drones can also be piloted by military personnel “to get in and out of ports” and are designed especially to ensure Minas Gerais removal operations, Alex Luck said.
The parade also allowed you to present multiple air and terrestrial drones, which complete a wide range of capabilities in this area, especially to ensure the transportation of material and ammunition, as well as recognition.
