Dream catcher is not only a beautiful decoration, but also the protector of your quiet sleep. Instead of plastic and pre -prepared templates, however, you can create your original piece of natural materials that are gentle on nature and bring a unique atmosphere to your home.
It has its roots in the traditions of the indigenous people of North America who believed that this talisman can capture bad dreams and release only the good ones. Nowadays, dream catcher is not only a symbol of protection and positive energy, but also a popular accessory to interiors. Production of your own dream catcher can be a pleasant creative experience and also a way to approach nature and minimize the use of artificial materials. There is no special template. Just a little patience and a few basic aids from nature or household.

Production of dream catcher made of natural materials without templates
The first step is to choose a suitable frame, which may not be perfectly circular. Ideal is, for example, a bent twig of willow, linden or other flexible wood that you can easily shape into a circle and connect with a natural string or skin. Such a frame is not only environmentally friendly, but gives your traps an authentic look.
The second phase is to create a network, the heart of a dream catcher. Even here you do not need any templates or draft patterns. Just prepare a sufficiently solid natural thread or cotton string and start wrap it around the frame. Follow the intuition: Clean simple knots at regular intervals and gradually join the net into a circle, connecting each additional line of string exactly in the middle of the previous harnesses. This creates an intertwined “web”. And if you don’t like something somewhere, feel free to discharge and fix a few knots.
Finally, decorating comes. Fasten the feathers, wooden beads or cones on strings hanging from below. All these elements should be natural, and if you want, you can collect the feathers yourself while walking through the forest. It is also advisable to use natural dyes, for example from herbs if you decide to gently color the feather. And do not forget to tie a small string or ribbon at the top so that you can easily hang the trap.
