SAO PAULO (Reuters)-Deliveries to the Brazilian market totaled 20.14 million tons in the first half, an increase of 10.5% over the same period of 2024, the National Association for Fertilizer Dispute (CDA) said on Wednesday.
In June alone, the sector delivered 4.31 million tons, a growth of 7.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to CDA, indicating that the sector is preparing for the next grain crop.
The state of Mato Grosso, the largest producer of soy, corn and cotton in Brazil, concentrated 23.9% of total deliveries in the first half, with 4.81 million tons.

In the semester, imports of intermediate fertilizers by Brazil, which depends on external purchases to meet the demand of producers, totaled 18.47 million tons, up 10.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The national production of intermediate fertilizers, in turn, reached 3.51 million tons in the first half, an increase of 8.9% in annual comparison.
Wal also informed that, during the 12th Brazilian Fertilizer Congress, held this week, signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture to exchange knowledge between the public and private sectors, aiming at improving sectoral statistics, among other items.
