In the language of flowers they mean love and sensitivity. According to many passes, unique people are eager to surround them. In ancient Greece, they were called Dios Anthos, or Zeus flower. Flowers with a great smell will enjoy us for many years if we use the right care methods.
How to grow cloves? Long -term flowers in the garden
Cloves feel best in sunny positions, although on hot days they will appreciate light shading in the afternoon. It is important that the soil is permeable, fertile and moderately moist. Avoid heavy and wetlands that promote root rot. Before planting, it is worth enriching the soil with compost or well -spread manure. Cloves do not like excess water, so we water them moderately when the top layer of soil dries. During the flowering period, it is worth supplying them with multi -component fertilizer, designed for flowering plants. Avoid nitrogen fertilizers that promote leaves at the expense of flowering.
Homemade carnation fertilizer
If we want the flowers to bloom abundantly, it is worth once every two weeks, water them with a conditioner. If we want to use buying fertilizers, humus will be appropriate. However, a home -made banana skin preparation will also work. Plants for flowering are needed by two important nutrients – phosphorus and potassium, which are found in the skin of these fruits. It is the phosphorus that makes the plants bloom abundantly, and potassium strengthens them and protects them from diseases. To make a fertilizer houses, just finely cut banana peel, put into a jar and pour hot water. Drain after 48 hours. It is worth watering the flowers twice a month with such a home fertilizer. The conditioner will also work for other pot and garden flowers. Importantly, the skins that have been made after the fertilizer can be crushed and mixed with water even more. Such a mixture will be a great conditioner for vegetables in the garden.
Care care for flowering. Don’t forget about it
Regular removal of faded flowers stimulates the plant to produce new buds and extends the flowering period. In the case of high varieties of garden cloves, it is worth using supports to prevent the breaking of shoots under the weight of flowers. After the season and flowering, bearded cloves can be cut low above the ground. Many of them spread spontaneously, thanks to which we can enjoy new flowers next year. You can also collect seeds and sow them next season. In contrast, garden cloves, depending on the variety, can be grown as annual or perennial plants. After flowering, they should be cut low above the ground. If you grow a long -term variety, it is worth protecting it against frost, covering, for example, spruce branches or agrotextile. In spring, after the frosts have subsided, remove the cover and cut shoots to stimulate the plant to grow.
