The PT leader in the House of Representatives, Deputy Lindbergh Farias (RJ), said on Tuesday, that he grew up among party leaders a tendency for the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), include the project that grants amnesty to those who are convicted of the scammer acts of 8 January 2023.
The statements occurred after the petista left a meeting between leaders at Motta’s official residence in Brasilia. According to the deputy, the presence of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), in Brasilia influenced a “movement” of the leaders in defense of the inclusion of amnesty on the agenda, after the conclusion of the trial of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the Supreme Court (STF), on September 12.
“It is a serious mistake any discussion to guide the amnesty. There is this discussion, a movement grew with the presence here of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio, to discuss this issue of amnesty and after the trial,” he said. “The Legislative Power boarding an agenda like this is a serious misconception,” he continued.

According to Lindbergh, “several parties” asked for this agenda at the meeting of leaders, such as União Brasil, PP and Republicans. The petista stated that Tarcisio “is looking for all parties” in favor of amnesty and that there was “a change of tone and intensity in the desire to guide” the proposal.
The congressman also argued that the governor of Sao Paulo is intended to build his candidacy for the Planalto Palace in 2026. “Tarcisio, by the way, is building a way to become everyone’s candidate by taking this agenda. Now, of course, Tarcisio will pay the price for it,” said Lindbergh. “I think he consolidated his candidacy for president,” he said.
According to the PT leader, the discussion about the inclusion of the agenda after the trial will be placed in a new meeting of leaders in the coming days. The parliamentarian stated that there was no presentation of a concrete text.
