An integrated action by the Acre Civil Police, through the Brazilian Police Station, and the Federal Police resulted in the seizure of 23.85 pounds of marijuana. The operation took place on Tuesday (2), in extension 59, rural area of the municipality of Epitaciolândia, border region with Bolivia.

According to the findings, the narcotics would have been brought from neighboring countries and were hiding for later transport to Rio Branco. From the Acrean capital, the cargo would be distributed to supply other Brazilian states.
The illicit material was located buried on the banks of a back road, confirming the information passed on through an anonymous denunciation. Authorities are still investigating the case to identify those involved and dismantle the criminal network that operates in the region.

According to the Civil Police Chief, Erick Macil the operation demonstrates that the corporation is aware and working strategically to dismantle criminal organizations and prevent drugs from reaching distribution centers. “Cooperation between institutions is fundamental for facing drug trafficking,” he said.
