Chinese leader Xi Jinping praised the Armed Forces and exposed his view to China’s “unstoppable” rise in a nationalist speech at the Beijing Military Parade.
“The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is unstoppable. The noble cause of peace and development for humanity will surely triumph,”.
It is a family phrase – for years, Xi has repeatedly referred to the “rejuvenation of the Chinese nation”, installing the country’s rise on the world scene and the evolution to global superpower.
Xi also repeated his appeal for the construction of an army of “World Class” – part of his vision to modernize the China Popular Liberation Army (ELP) and ensure that he can “fight and overcome wars.”
Beijing has sought an impressive military increase under the Government of Xi, during which the ELP, which was not even one of the strongest in Asia, began to rival, or in some ways, overcoming, the US Armed Forces, according to analysts.
This is particularly impressive considering that China has not been involved in a war of full right since its brief conflict with Vietnam in 1979.
