Businessman Algarvio Orlando Mateus was one of the distinguished in the gala of the Portuguese Value Awards 2025, promoted by Lusopress and held in the noble hall of the Casino de Vilamoura. The event brought together more than two hundred guests and aimed to honor Portuguese resident abroad that have been highlighted in promoting Portuguese communities.
One night marked by the celebration and emotion, Orlando Mateus took the stage to receive the prize, a moment he described as “very important.” “I want to thank my family, they are my strength and hope. Red and green colors run through my veins and represent our flag is very important to me. But I also want to thank my commission in the United States. I do not do anything alone and volunteers are dedicated and fight hard to achieve everything we have achieved. We have to value and promote it, ”said the visibly thrilled Algarve.

In addition to Orlando Mateus, the Azorean entrepreneur Ildeberto Medina were also distinguished, who received the Award for Honor and Merit for the work developed in the promotion of portugality in Rhode Island (USA), and Caesar do Paço, a businessman of Azorean origin, represented in the gala by José Lourenço.
The ceremony was divided into two moments: the delivery of the awards of honor and merit and, later, the distinction of the “Portuguese value 2025”, preceded by the show “Dance Flavors”.

The organization stressed that the event intends to recognize those who, scattered around the world, raise the national flag and contribute to the union and appreciation of the Portuguese communities.
The gala of the Portuguese value prizes will return in 2026, again with the purpose of highlighting exceptional personalities that promote the name and colors of Portugal beyond borders.
