The second day of trial in the first class of the Federal Supreme Court on Wednesday (3) had the main defendants of the case, such as the former president (PL) and the former minister.
Minister Rapporteur of the process, took notes with a pen and passed the hundreds of pages on his table highlighting excerpts from the documents with a text mark.
The minister also made his notes during every prominent speech of the defenses. He participated in all phases of the process and assumed an informal position of the reviewer, giving evidence that he will open the main divergence against Moraes in the trial.
They also kept attention during the lawyers’ speech, asking specific questions about the support. The minister – also president of the (Superior Electoral Court) – reserved again part of its demonstrations to defend the Brazilian electoral system.
The plenary of the first class of the Supreme was more emptied on Wednesday than on the first day of judgment. The presence of parliamentarians was reduced to three governing deputies-(PT-RJ), (PSOL-RJ) and (PCdoB-SP).
The former defense minister, the only defendant to go to the Supreme Court on Tuesday (2), also missed on Wednesday. The reserve general found it better to be absent after a first exhaustive day and poorly benefited. He uses a type to immobilize his left arm, injured in an accident during a ping-pong match with one of his grandchildren.
The second day of judgment was shorter than the first. It was about four hours of oral support from the defendants’ defenses, Jair Bolsonaro, Paulo Sérgio Nogueira e.
The lawyers called to speak were the star and, both of a long career and with relevant cases in the Supreme, such as the monthly.
The lawyers were also to the tribune, one of the main revelations of the trial, Paulo Bueno Cunha and Andrew Fernandes, defender of Paulo Sérgio whose mark is discretion.
Even by the most discreet profile, it generated surprise and curiosity.
“Here I remember my mother -in -law. My mother -in -law says, ‘Sometimes the words are like a dagger, a weapon: they hurt and hurt.’ And why did I remember my dear mother -in -law?” Andrew said.
The minister interrupted the speech and said he was curious about the quote; Alexandre de Moraes joked: “Your mother -in -law says this or her words are a dagger?”
The moment of relaxation followed at the end of Andrew’s oral support, when he quickly needed to put his cell phone in the silent after the phone ringing the Supreme pulpit.
“Don’t forget to answer the phone. It was your mother -in -law,” said Dino.
The second day of trial had fewer embarrassing moments and gaffes than Tuesday’s session.
The lawyers focused on the deconstruction of the Lieutenant Colonel award-winning denunciation agreement, criticism of the alleged curtailment of the defense exercise and the debate on the merits of the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) accusations.
After the end of the session, press and lawyers met at one of the Supreme departure to do interviews and take their cars to leave the place. A few meters from the place, in public parking, a trumpeter positioned himself to play the songs “Funeral March” and.
Fabiano Leão became one of the final phase characters of the process against Bolsonaro. Whenever the former president gave an interview or the Supreme advanced some phase of the criminal action, the trumpeter appeared to play the instrument.
The Supreme resumes the trial of the coup plot next Tuesday (9), with the vote of Alexandre de Moraes. Other ministers may also present their positions. The final sentence, however, should only be known on Friday (12).
