Jerusalem – Because of the recognition of a Palestinian state announced by Paris, French President Macron is initially undesirable in Israel. Only when France left this step can Macron come back to Israel that the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem explained on Thursday after a conversation by department head Gideon Saar with his French colleague Jean-Noël Barrot. Saar literally said that there is “no room” for a visit to Macron as long as Paris “adheres to his initiatives and efforts that damage the interests of Israel”.
