Hamas reiterates disposition for comprehensive agreement in the Gaza Strip

Hamas reiterated on Wednesday that he is ready for a comprehensive agreement in Gaza, where all Israeli hostages are freed in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners.

The group’s reaffirmation occurred shortly after US President Donald Trump asking what to release all 20 hostages.

The office of criticized Hamas comments in a statement. “Unfortunately, this is another Hamas maneuver with nothing new,” he said.

Israel reiterated that the war in Gaza will only end if all hostages are released, Hamas is disarmed and the track is demilitarized, while Israeli forces can establish safety control over the enclave and an alternative civil administration be established.

In August, Hamas agreed with a 60-day ceasefire proposal with Israel, which provided for the return of half of the hostages in Gaza and the release of some by Israel.

An Egyptian official source said the proposal accepted by the Palestinian group included the suspension of Israeli military operations for 60 days and outlined a structure for a comprehensive agreement to end the conflict of almost two years.

Netanyahu said days after Israel would immediately resume negotiations for the release of all hostages in Gaza and the end of the war, but cited “acceptable terms.”
