The former goalkeeper, who represented FC Porto for a decade, is being investigated for domestic violence. The complaint was made by a woman with whom Helton had had an extramarital relationship for 10 years.
Helton Arruda, the former goalkeeper who represented the Football Club of Porto for 10 years, was arrested on Wednesday night, after being found an illegal firearm and ammunition at his home in Vila Nova de Gaia, according to the newspaper .
The search mandate occurred after a complaint of domestic violence made by a woman with whom Helton had had an extramarital relationship for over 10 years.
The 47-year-old former player, who represented the Union of Leiriao FC Portoo Vasco da Gama and National Selection of Brazilwas constituted defendant in a process that is being accompanied by the of Porto, in a section specializing in crimes against women.
The Public Prosecution Service performed several procedures during the investigation, including the victim’s hearingof witnesses and from defendantas well as the realization of search e seizure in places associated with Helton da Silva Arruda.
