According to the publication, one of the victims is André Marques, the elevator’s guard who derailed.

Glory Elevator
The Glory Elevator has the capacity to carry up to 42 passengers (22 seated and 20 standing) and was inaugurated in 1885 – an older funicular in operation in the city. The equipment underwent a general repair by 2022 and periodic maintenance by 2024, according to the established protocols.
