watermelon is guaranteed presence at the table of many Brazilians, especially on the hottest days. But its benefits go far beyond hydration. The nutritionist of the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital, Fernanda Lima, highlighted four advantages that this fruit can bring to health-and some of them may surprise.
See 4 Watermelon Benefits for Health:
1. Support in weight loss
“Watermelon is a low -density food, rich in water and micronutrient source, such as vitamin A, C, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. However, it is noteworthy that no isolated food has the ability to lose weight or fattening a person,” said Fernanda.
2. More volume and flavor in the diet
A thin slice of watermelon has, on average, 100g and only 30 kcal, which makes it possible to include up to three portions of fruit throughout the day. “But the ideal is when we can vary the fruits we eat as a way that each has and also to have a more diverse and tasty diet,” said Lima.
