British Vice -President Angela Renner resigned two days after admitting that he had paid a lower tax transfer of real estate to buy an apartment to a new blow to the labor government.

“I decided to resign as Vice President of the Government and Minister of Housing (…), as well as the position of Vice President of the Labor Party,” the MP wrote.

Renner, 45, is the eighth and most recent departure of government minister, and the most detrimental so far, after the British prime minister had offered his full support when he was first accused of attempting deliberately to avoid paying the right tax.

“I am deeply sorry for my decision not to ask for additional specialized tax advice … I fully take responsibility for this mistake,” Renner said in her letter to Starmer.

Faced with challenges Starmer

Starmer replied that she was very sad that her term in government ended in this way, but stressed that Renner made the right decision.

With workers remaining in polls by the populist reform UK, Starmer is facing more challenges in his attempt to restore his power and image of his party.

The loss of his government’s vice president is particularly detrimental, especially because Renner, daughter of a teenager mother from the working class who arrived in one of Britain’s highest political positions, had managed to mediate between the left and center wing.

At times, a possible successor to Starmer, Renner was forced to address an independent ministerial standards on Wednesday, after admitting that she was wrong about paying the tax.

In an interview that appeared to be about to tear, Renner described how she created a trust for one of her sons, who has lifelong disabilities due to injury.

In this trust she sold her share from her family home in northern England to pay for an apartment at the South England’s seaside resort, believing that she would not have to pay the highest tax rate charged when buying a second home.

After receiving further legal advice, he then said that he had been wrong and took action to pay the additional tax.

The departure of eight ministers and deputy ministers, five of whom resigned for offenses, means that Starmer has suffered the most of the ministers, outside of government reshuffle, from any other prime minister at the beginning of his term in office since at least 1979.
