Washington (Reuters)-Former US President Joe Biden recently underwent surgery to remove cancer cells from his skin, said Democratic spokesman on Friday.
The procedure, known as Mohs surgery, is commonly used to treat the most common forms of skin cancer.
The surgery occurs a few months after 82 -year -old Biden revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. Your team has described the disease as aggressive but sensitive to hormones, which means it will probably respond to treatment.
Biden had already removed a skin injury during a routine physical examination in 2023 while he was president. This lesion was identified as basocellular carcinoma.
Biden’s physical health and mental acuity were frequent topics of scrutiny during its presidency. He abruptly ended his attempted reelection in July 2024, a few weeks after a hesitant performance in the Donald Trump debate generated widespread concern in the Democratic Party.
