Philadelphia Eagles debuted with victory in NFL season 2025. On Thursday night (4) at Lincoln Financial Field, the Super Bowl Lix champion hit Dallas Cowboys 24-20, in a match that had to be interrupted for more than an hour due to a lightning storm in Philadelphia.

In the field, the Eagles had great performance by Jalen Hurts. Quarterback hit 19 of 23 passes, added 64 yards and scored two running touchdowns.

Another highlight was Running Back Saquon Barkley, which ran to 60 yards and a touchdown in 18 attempts, as well as contributing four receptions to 24 yards.

On the cowboys side, Dak Prescott ended with 21 of 34 full passes to 188 yards.

Wide Receiver Ceedee Lamb was the main offensive target, with seven receptions for 110 yards. Still, Dallas’s team failed to react after the third room stoppage when the attack was stopped by the defense of the Eagles.

The game started controversial. In the first play, Jalen Carter, from the Eagles, was expelled for spitting on Prescott. Shortly thereafter, Javonte Williams opened the scoring for Dallas with a yard race. The answer came in the next campaign, with Hurts running to Endzone.

The balance remained in the second quarter: Williams and Hurts scored new touchdowns and, before the break, Barkley also left his mark. The cowboys still added two Field Goals, but they went down to the disadvantage locker rooms, 21-20.

On the way back, Jake Elliot expanded with a Field Goal and placed the score at 24 to 20, a result that remained until the end. The stoppage because of the storm cooled the pace of the cowboys, and the defense of Philadelphia dominated the actions in the last period to hold the victory.

With the triumph, the Eagles drop in the front and show strength at the opening, keeping the title rock. Cowboys, despite good individual performances, come out with the frustration of seeing the attack off at the decisive moment.
