EU raises embargo on imports of Brazilian chicken after a case of avian flu

Brazil, the world’s largest producer and exporter, thus resumes exports to its seventh largest buyer, although some countries, such as China and Canada, still maintain restrictions.

The European Union suspended on Thursday the embargo on imports of Brazilian chicken imposed four months ago due to the case of avian flu detected in a commercial farm in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, the Brazilian government announced.
