Biden underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure used to remove the skin until there is no more traces of cancer
Joe Biden’s office said Thursday that the former US president underwent surgery to remove skin cancer lesions.
Confirmation of surgery to the former president, affected by several recent health problems, was made by spokesman Kelly Scully after publication by the Tabloid Inside Edition of a Biden video with a scar on the forehead, leaving a church in Delaware.
Biden underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure used to remove the skin until there is no more traces of cancer, Scully said.
Two years ago, when Biden was still president, a chest injury was removed, a common form of skin cancer.
In March, Biden’s office announced that an aggressive form of prostate cancer had been diagnosed, which had spread to the bones.
“Cancer affects us all,” Biden wrote on social networks at the time, ensuring that the experience makes people “stronger.”
The Biden family has repeatedly faced cancer over the years.
Biden’s eldest son, Beau, died of a brain tumor, and his wife, Jill, removed two cancer lesions.
