“I almost cried!”: Ivo Oliveira received the best birthday gift from colleague João Almeida

Ivo Oliveira celebrates his 29th anniversary today and was entitled to a special gift from teammate and friend João Almeida. The Portuguese cyclist of UAE Emirates won the tough 13th stage of the Volta to Spain, in the mythical Angliru, coinciding with the compatriot’s birthday date.

Almeida’s victory, in one of the most difficult climbs in the world, made the day even more remarkable for the two Portuguese corridors. “It’s the best birthday gift! I almost cried when I learned. The best gift ever,” said Ivo when he met Almeida at the end of the stage.
