The request was made this Friday (5) by Moraes in an order in the trial process.
To date, the former president’s (PL) and other defendants for Tuesday (9), Wednesday (10) and Friday (12) have been scheduled.
If Zanin accepts Moraes’s request, the trial should last more than expected. It is expected that sessions will be scheduled for the whole day on Thursday.
The traditional session of the extraordinary Thursday plenary has already been canceled by the court president, Luís Roberto Barroso.
Within the Supreme, the assessment is that Moraes wants to ensure that the trial is already closing next week, and does not extend to the next. He has justified, internally, that his intention is that the rhythm of the trial is not broken.
