The Federal Senate authorized, on Thursday (4), the removal of Senator Marcos do Val (Somos-ES) for health reasons. The paid license, lasting 116 days, was approved by the House Medical Board and occurs amid investigations involving the parliamentarian in the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
The Senate’s decision was one of the factors considered by Minister Alexandre de Moraes in determining the relaxation of, including the use of an electronic anklet. According to Moraes, the removal of the mandate “minimizes the possibility of the senator to influence the criminal investigation or the application of criminal law.”
The license request was filed by VAL on August 28, a day before the new decision of Moraes, which accepted the Senate law of law against the measures imposed above.

In the order, Moraes quoted a medical report that attested the need for leave for health reasons, without disclosing details about the clinical condition of the parliamentary.
According to the Senate Rules, as the license lasts less than 120 days, there is no call for alternate. The parliamentarian can also give up the license at any time. The remuneration is full during the period.
Although the protocol document speaks of its own health treatment, Marcos do Val had said earlier that it would be out of the Senate for 30 days to take care of their parents, who also face health problems.
