The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Rome draws attention to several planned strikes in transport in Italy during September. The strikes will affect air transport and regional transport in Sicily. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs (Foreign Affairs) of the Slovak Republic informed about it on the web.

On Saturday (6 September) there will be a nationwide air transport strike, which will concern both ground and air staff. It can cause delays, cancellation of flights and disrupting operations at Italian airports. “From 12.00 to 16.00 h will strike the entire ground staff (at Milan Linate airport will take 24 hours). In addition, the situation is complicated by the 24-hour strike of EasyJet staff, which can affect several short and medium-sized flights on the most frequent routes, ”the ministry pointed out.

On September 26, two other nationwide strikes in air transport are announced. Cub Trasportti planned a full -day strike of all employees of air, airport and related industries. UILT-UIL planned a 24-hour stopping of Volotea flights.

On Monday (8. 9.), regional transport in Sicily may be limited. Twenty -four -hour strike can disrupt the operation of several transport companies, namely Autolinee Russo (Palermo), Segesta Autolinee (Palermo), Interbus (Enna) and Etna Trasporti (Catania). “We recommend citizens of the Slovak Republic to count on significant complications in transport, monitor up -to -date information of transport companies and plan their trips with time reserve,” said Mzvez.

In the event of an emergency, Slovak citizens can contact the international operational crisis center MZVEZ at +421 2 5978 5978 and +421 906 07 5978.
