For the Brazilian vice president, Donald Trump’s decision to tax Brazilian products for seeing a ‘witch hunt’ in Brazil has no foundation
The vice president, who is also Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, said that the judgment of the former president by the Supreme Court () should not serve as a justification for the application of tariffs against Brazilian products. In addressing the movement of the opposition by amnesty to participants of undemocratic acts, Alckmin defined the pardon as a “reverse march.”
“The pardon is a coup of reverse gear. This is inadmissible,” said Alckmin after participating in the auction of the submerged tunnel of the works between and, on the São Paulo coast. According to Alckmin, the decision of the president of the United States, to tax Brazilian products for seeing a witch hunt against Bolsonaro is founded.
“Imagine the following, the American opens a lawsuit against, for example, the former US president. And we Brazilians do not agree. So let’s increase the tariff. There is no justification for that,” said Alckmin.
