Channel receives reports of violence against app workers and seeks to ensure more visibility and protection to the category

The Labor Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro has created a Denunciation Dial to record cases of violence against application workers. The measure is a direct response to the increase in episodes of aggression and criminalization of these professionals, such as the recent case of the delivery man shot by a criminal policeman in Taquara, Alerj said.

The channel will be available on (21) 98261-6266 to receive complaints of physical aggression, threats, harassment and other rights violations faced by delivery, drivers and service providers on digital platforms.

Visibility

According to state deputy Dani Balbi (PCdoB-RJ), chairman of the Labor Commission, the initiative seeks to give visibility to situations of violence that often do not reach the competent authorities.

“It is unacceptable that workers who support the city’s daily life, ensuring food and mobility, are exposed to aggression and humiliation. The Denunciation Dial will be an instrument to register, monitor and refer these cases, strengthening the protection of the category.”he said.
