The disease allowance is a support paid for social security to those who are temporarily unable to work for health reasons. This support does not cover all situations and requires compliance with specific rules, which vary depending on the work bond and the duration of the low.
According to the Ekonomist News Portal, Social Security considers sickness any morbid and evolutionary situation that prevents the exercise of professional activity. However, the diseases or accidents that have a professional origin or that result from the responsibility of third parties are not included in the regime, cases in which compensation may exist.
According to the same source, the disease allowance covers workers due to others, including those of domestic service, provided they do discounts for social security. Independent workers, such as entrepreneurs in the individual name, are also included.

In addition, the worker must have at least six months of discounts, followed or interpolated, and meet the so -called professionality rate: having worked at least 12 days in the four months prior to the beginning of the downtown.

Limits, deadlines and accumulations

The subsidy can accumulate with installments, such as the social income of insertion, indemnity pensions or vacation and compensatory Christmas subsidies. But it is not compatible with disability or old age reforms, unemployment allowance, parental subsidies or support to the main informal caregiver.
How the value is calculated
Also according to the value, the amount corresponds to a percentage of the daily reference remuneration, which increases with the time of low: 55% up to 30 days, 60% from 31 to 90 days, 70% from 91 to 365 days and 75% from day 366. For cases of tuberculosis, the percentage is higher and may reach 100% if the beneficiary has more than two dependents.
There are also increases for low income and large families, provided that the aggregate meets specific criteria. The minimum value is 5.09 euros per day and the maximum corresponds to the net value of the reference remuneration.
The publication adds that the subsidy may be suspended or cease if obligations such as home stay, comparison to medical examinations are fulfilled or communication of situation changes to social security. Also the existence of debts may lead to suspension in the case of independent and registered in the voluntary regime.
The attribution process is automatic whenever the CIT is issued electronically. When it is manual, the beneficiary has to deliver it to Social Security within five business days, and provides authenticated copy to the employer to justify the absence.
