The lawyers argue that Bruno Sheide’s presence would be beneficial to the former president, who, according to them, faces unstable health condition
The defense of the former president filed a request to the Minister of the Supreme Court (), seeking authorization so that, state vice president of the Liberal Party (PL) in can make continuous visits to the former president. The request aims to allow Sheide, which has a close personal relationship with Bolsonaro, to have regular access without the need for judicial authorizations, as if it were a family member. Bolsonaro’s lawyers argue that Sheide’s presence would be beneficial to the former president, who, according to them, faces unstable health.
The lawyers emphasize the urgency of the request, especially with the proximity of demonstrations, in which Bolsonaro’s wife Michele should participate. The defense claims that the presence of a “friendly face” could be comforting to the former president. However, the request faces resistance, since it is not common for people outside the family or health circle to have unrestricted access to someone in house arrest, especially in a delicate political context.
Sheide’s presence raises questions about legal precedents and the extension of privileges in home arrest situations.
