First report: Kabel detached from a standing cable car in Lisbon

Lisbon – According to initial findings of an investigation committee, the severe cable car accident in the Portuguese capital Lisbon with 16 deaths was caused by damage to the connection of the rope to the accident car. The rope loosened from the yellow car, it said on Saturday from the Office for the contraception and examination of flight and railway accidents (GPIAAF) in Lisbon. Why the brakes did not stop the vehicle was initially unclear.
