  • Matting of floor panels is a common problem, resulting from improper cleaning agents, excess fluid or dirty mop.
  • To restore the glow, you can use commercial gloss or try proven home methods.
  • Discover how black tea and vinegar can change the appearance of your floor and make it shine again!

Why do floor panels get dull and lose their glow?

Mathening is a common problem. Even the best well -kept parquet can start matting over time. There are several reasons for this, and the most common are:

  • using incorrect fluid for floors – preparations not adapted to panels can leave a matte coating,
  • Using too much floor liquid – excess detergent does not serve the parquet. It is better to apply it less than more,
  • Dirty mop or too hot water – on the mop there are often unshakable residues of detergents that can cause panels.

If your parquet has lost its glow, it is worth considering using buying rinseers or home methods.

Mix it with the liquid to the floor and wipe the dance floor thoroughly. It will regain its original glow

Black tea is a great way to matte floors. A strong brewing infusion of black tea will shine panels well. Always use it mixed with a detergent so that it is not too strong. Black tea is best for refreshing dark floors because the pigment contained in it can darken the parquet.

Irreplaceable vinegar is another way to. It can be a natural and economical way to shine floor panels, but it should be used carefully. First of all, vinegar should be diluted with water in a proportion of about 1/4 cup of vinegar per liter of water. Excess vinegar can damage the protective layer of panels. Then, a slightly moistened mop (not wet!) The floor is washed with such a prepared solution. It helps remove minor dirt and leaves shiny panels. After washing, it is worth wipe the floor with a dry microfiber mop to avoid streaks and provide even better shine. Remember to avoid the use of vinegar on laminated panels with a damaged surface or on those that have special coatings for which vinegar may be too aggressive. It is also worth testing the solution on a not very visible part of the floor before use.
