The French authorities detained a 17-year-old teenager who is suspected of preparing attacks on embassies or official buildings, they told AFP sources on Saturday, TASR writes.
The young man was detained on Monday in his house in the Sarthe region. According to sources, he tried to escape from the police and suffered minor injuries.
List of schools and fidelity IS
One source said the police found a promise of loyalty to the Islamic State and a list of schools in Le Mans during his tour in his house. Next to this list, a number of liters had also been written, which was expected to apply to ingredients to inhibitions or chemical explosives, says the French news agency.
The teenager is also suspected of planning attacks on the embassies of Israel, Britain and the United States, the French Ministry of the Interior, various media settlements – all are located in Paris – as well as the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Confession of attack planning
AFP claims that the Counter -Public Prosecutor’s Office as well as a young man’s lawyer refused to comment on the case.
One of the sources claims that the teenager has allegedly confessed to the planning of many of the alleged acts. The young man reportedly said he was determined to make his plans. However, he has not yet taken any steps to implement them because it was extensive attacks, the source said.
An increase in the radical plans of minors
In the past two years, the French counter -terrorist authorities have more often warned before the minors were involved in radical plans. The Counter -Public Prosecutor’s Office stated in April that in 2023 it recorded 15 such cases, in 2024 there were 18 and the first half of 2025 recorded 11 cases. With the latest case, the total number of minors involved in such cases increased to at least 14, informs AFP.
