The PT began a legal offensive against the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), in response to his growing mobilization by the amnesty of those involved in the acts of January 8. The actions were filed at both the São Paulo Public Prosecution Service and the Federal Supreme Court. The investigation is from the policy analyst Pedro Venceslau to the CNN Arena.
In the federal capital, Federal Deputy Rui Falcão (PT-SP) presented a representation to the Supreme Court requesting an investigation against Tarcisio for alleged obstruction of justice. At the same time, at the state level, state deputy Paulo Fiorilo (PT-SP) filed an action for administrative misconduct with the Public Prosecution Service of São Paulo.
Fiorilo’s action accuses the governor of using the public machine for personal purposes. The central argument is that Tarcisio would be neglecting his administrative responsibilities in São Paulo to devote himself to articulation by amnesty, a theme that, according to the accusation, has no direct relationship with state issues.
The governor intensified his participation in discussions about amnesty, holding meetings with members of Republicans and the mayor, Hugo Mota (Republicans-PB). The PT considers these actions as contrary to what it classifies as “defense of national sovereignty”.
