Ukrainian President invited Vladimir Putin to a meeting in Kiev. He responded to the offer of the Russian President to come to negotiations in Moscow. He described this invitation of Greenyy as a tactic for postponing negotiations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Genskyj proposed Kiev as a possible meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He responded to the previous statement of Putin, according to which the meeting could take place in Moscow, TASR reports according to the DPA report.
“He (Putin) can come to Kiev,” said Greeding in an interview with American television ABC, which was published on Saturday. He stressed that he could not travel to Moscow while his country faced Russia’s daily attacks, and described Putin’s offer as a tactic for postponing negotiations. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader stated that the Kremlin boss cannot be trusted and that he “plays” games with the United States.
Greeding repeatedly calls for a meeting with Putin to negotiate a ceasefire in the war that Russia began in February 2022.
On Wednesday, Putin noted that Greenable could come to Moscow if negotiations could lead to a positive result. On Friday, however, he again challenged the usefulness of such interviews and reiterated that he did not recognize the legitimacy of the Ukrainian president. Already on Thursday, Zelenskyj rejected Moscow as a place of negotiations. “If you want the meeting to occur, then invite me to Moscow,” he said.
