A 77-year-old man from Küchen, in the district of the Center of Almeania of Werra-Meißner, has encountered a big problem after three months without the Internet, asking for the leave of the service to his supplier and lets him loose that doing so will cost him up to 1,400 euros.
Rainer Bestmann has a fiber optic contract with the German company Goetel. The man received all the documentation and access credentials on May 1, but due to a technical problem he was without internet for three months, as reported by the German medium, with which the affected person was in touch.
Bestmann has shown his dissatisfaction with the way he was treated by the supplier until a technician finally arrived at his home in early August. “I received a Goetel call telling me to connect my device,” this happened in early May, the man explained to the German medium. However, instead of two green lights, only one remained on.
“I should have called about 20 times,” Bestmann added on his journey, which lasted three months. “On several occasions, I had the impression that the people I talked to did not have the right training,” he said. In addition, on many occasions the answer he received from his interlocutor was that he needed to consult a partner and then simply hung.
Three months later a technician finally arrived, who in just a few minutes solved the problem. But now, although the problem is already solved, Bestmann says he no longer wants to continue with Goetel. This measure is due to the problems it has had, but also that your previous supplier now offers you the same volume of data.
In July, before obtaining a solution, he set a deadline for an email for problem solving. Otherwise, the contract would terminate. “At one point, I canceled my subscription and received an answer saying that it was not possible. I would have to pay 1,400 euros. After that, they got to work” and solved the problem.
