Less than 24 hours after losing the semifinal to Italy, in a very disputed game that was only decided at the Tie-Break, Brazil returned to the court in Banco to face Japan in search of the bronze medal at the Volleyball World Cup.
And a game that looked like it would be quietly closed by Brazil in three sets was complicated.
Again the decision went to Tie-Break and Brazil made 18 to 16.
The Brazilian won the first two sets with tranquility (25/12 and 25/17), but Japan recovered on the third set and did 25/19.
Brazil started the fourth set very well, opening 5-0. But again the Japanese team recovered and managed to close in 29 to 27.
Then came the Tie-Break again.
The decisive set was played point by point, with none of the teams being able to open great advantage.
Japan has three World Cup titles (1962, 1967 and 1974) and Três Vices (1960, 1970 and 1978).
Brazil has no title yet. He took the deputy in 1994 against Cuba in 2006 and 2010, both against Russia, and in 2022, against Serbia.
