Former NBA Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard, along with former women’s basketball star Sue Bird, were the highlights of a group of athletes introduced in the Hall of Basketball Fame Naismith on Saturday night (6) in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Female Stars Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles, coach Billy Donovan, the owner of Miami Heat Micky Arison, referee Danny Crawford and the 2008 US Men’s Olympic team were also named.
Anthony and Howard were members of the 2008 US Olympic team.

Howard, elected as a member of the first vote, was three times defensive player of the NBA year (2009-11) and eight times All-Star Game. It occupies the 10th place among the biggest rebounds in NBA history, with 14,627 career rebounds, and the 13th with 2,228 blocks.

Arison has owned Miami Heat since 1995 and won three titles (2006, 2012 and 2013).
Crawford was NBA referee from 1985 to 2017 and played in over 2,000 regular games and 300 playoff games, including NBA finals in 23 consecutive seasons.
