Lisbon/Madrid – Forest fires have broken out again on the Iberian Peninsula. In Seia in the center of Portugal, 600 firefighters are deployed against the flames, the Portuguese authorities said on Saturday. Several roads were closed. The priority is “protecting the houses,” the Portuguese news agency Lusa quoted a spokesman for the authorities. According to their own information, the police arrested a person about suspected arson. According to the authorities, the fire had broken out again due to strong winds at speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour.
