Biscoitê was launched in 2012, with the concept of turning cookies into gifts. Its climbing process began with stumbles, according to the executive. With only three units and the desire to expand in 2019, the chain made a high bet and opened 15 stores in five months, ending the year with 18 units, almost all of their own. For Easter 2020, the bet doubled: the stores have been fueled since March 16.
Days later, however, all were closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “I didn’t break, I capped,” he summarized, remembering the time he was without cash, after investing everything he had – and what he didn’t have – in the business. Transparency with creditors, however, made a difference. Shopping malls, instead of ending partnerships, offered new points, given the high brand satisfaction rate.

Thus, in full pandemic, the biscoitê grew again: the year ended with 20 units; Then it reached 50 and today already has more than eighty. The goal is to end the year close to 100 stores, in a plan that also aims to the international expansion.
‘Growth’
Biscoitê has grown rapidly, reaching nearly $ 100 million revenues and standing out as one of the companies that advance the most in its segment. According to the founder, the network profit is up to three times higher than the average cookie industries in Brazil. And behind the numbers is a management philosophy.

The entrepreneur argues that making money should be a consequence of a “cool business, made by happy people”. “You can have a business with shared management, where you have better people than you – literally – in different areas and that you give autonomy for people to grow,” he said.
The founder stresses that he did not build biscoitê for himself or his family, but for the world. “It may be a blessing or it can be a burden (if you leave it to your children). I want them to follow their path (without mandatory to take on the business).”
