We know garlic as a natural antibiotic. For centuries, it has been used to treat colds, raise immunity or deter parasites. But not only people use its extraordinary properties – plants can also gain it.
Garlic contains Sulfur, flavonoids and allicin relationships. They are responsible for his Antibacterial, antifungal and insect repellent effects. When we serve In the right form, they will get:
- Natural protection against pests – aphids, spider mites and flour bypass the smell of garlic,
- strengthening of immunity – the plant copes better with cooler nights and temperature fluctuations,
- A light injection of microelements – sulfur and minerals improve the condition of leaves and roots.
You don’t need great philosophy. It is enough that it will be in the kitchen ordinary . Here is the easiest way:
- Peel 3-4 cloves of garlic and crush them with a knife or squeeze through the press.
- Pour a liter of warm, boiled water.
- Leave for 24 hours in a closed jar or bottle.
- After this time, strain the liquid and ready – you have a natural garlic extract.
The solution prepared in this way is suitable for watering plants every 10-14 days. You don’t have to overdo it – garlic is strong and too frequent use could have the opposite effect.
You can use two methods (I do it interchangeably myself, because then I see the best results).
- Watering – pour the solution directly under the root. This strengthens the root system and provides minerals.
- Spray – poured into a bottle with a sprayer, the solution works like a natural repellent. The sprayed leaves become unattractive for aphids or flour.
In summer, geraniums grow like crazy – they have a lot of sun, regular watering and warm nights. In autumn, the conditions change. Higher humidity promotes the development of fungi, and cool nights weaken the plant.
Just then, garlic becomes an ally. Not only protects against but also mobilizes the plant to keep flowering. Even when other balcony flowers already fade, geraniums supported by a garlic “potion” can continue to release new buds.
