Union centrals and left -wing leaders gather this morning in Praça da República, in São Paulo, in an act in defense of national sovereignty. Movement tries to respond to the Bolsonarist demonstrations this September 7, Independence Holiday, and has the presence of Lula administration, such as Alexandre Padilha (Health) and Luiz Marinho (work), as well as the PT’s national president, Edinho Silva (PT), and federal deputies Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) and Ékika Hilton (PSOL). With the cloudy morning and a temperature of 18 ° C, early in the morning the act occupied the just over 320 meters wide of a part of Praça da República, in the center.
Although the motto of the act is national sovereignty, a speech that gained strength after the US government announced a 50% tariff imposed on Brazilian products, flags and posters were mainly against the amnesty of those investigated for the attempted coup d’état on January 8.
The act happens a few kilometers from another movement, the protest of supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on Paulista Avenue, planned to take place early in the afternoon. In this, an unrestricted amnesty request that would benefit Bolsonaro – in house arrest – must be the main flag.

According to Left Leaders, in addition to national sovereignty, the act of the Praça da República is also the taxation of super rich, the exemption of income tax for those who earn up to $ 5,000 per month and the reduction of working hours without salary reduction. The guidelines are not new and permeate leftist acts since the beginning of the year.
Organized by the People Sem Fear Front, which brings together MST and MTST, and union movements such as the Single Workers’ Center (CUT) and the General Workers Union (UGT), the expectation is to perform similar acts in at least 36 cities in 23 states and the Federal District.
