It informed it on Saturday (6) that users of its cloud service system, Azure, can slow down because of various cuts in submarine internet cables in the Red Sea. The warning did not specify how the cables were broken.
Traffic that crosses the Middle East originally or destined for the regions of Asia or Europe may suffer even higher interruptions, the company said in an online statement.
“Our engineering teams are actively managing interruption through diversified capacity and traffic redirect, and discussing alternative capacity options and providers in the region.”

The Red Sea is a fundamental telecommunications route that connects Europe to Africa and Asia via Egypt. Repairing submarine cables in the region has been a challenge due to constant conflicts, including attacks by the Yemen’s Houthi rebels to Vercora Vercations, which have been causing problems with global trade.
The company also warned that the problem can take some time to repair. Azure is the second largest cloud provider in the world, behind only AWS, Amazon.
