The national president of the PT (Workers Party), Edinho Silva, said on Saturday (6) that the subtitle will not be “passive” in the face of landing the Lula Government Progressive Union Federation, and will go after the dispute for the political leaders of the acronyms – including the ministers.

The measure is directed to the ministers André Fufuca (PP-MA), who commands the Ministry of Sport, and Minister Celso Sabino (União Brasil-PA), of Tourism. However, an agreement provides for two other ministers to remain in their positions: Frederico Siqueira, communications, and Waldez Góes, which generates the Ministry of Regional Development.

“I think it is a choice that these parties are making, which does not mean that we will give cheap in this movement. We will compete for the leaders of these two parties, dialoguing with respect to party differences, but we will dialogue with the leaders, with deputies and senators who always voted with the government and want to continue voting,” Edinho told the PT event in Salvador.
“We will compete in the leaders of these two parties, especially the ministers. The government is dialoguing, I have also dialogued with them. If they want to stay in government they will have all the support and all the necessary support,” he added.
The party leader also classified the case as a “political dispute” and which is natural in democracy, but should not affect the electoral scenario for President Lula if he wants to run for reelection in 2026.
União Brasil and the PP (Progressives) formalized the Political Federation in August this year. With the movement, Union-PP now has 109 deputies, and now 14 chairs in the Senate.
