Japan Prime Minister Shigeru Ihiba announced his resignation as president of the Democratic Liberal Party (PLD), as reported by the NHK public chain. Ishiba had been very criticized internally, after electoral results that led to the ruling coalition to lose control of the Parliament. Tomorrow Monday was going to produce a training meeting to discuss a possible advance of the primaries, which would have predictably section Ishiba from all their positions.
The elections held in July were starring the high cost of life, migratory issues. The result was devastating for the PLD. Ishiba said at first that he would continue to lead the country to avoid “political stagnation.”
Since Ihiba came to power less than a year ago, its coalition had lost its majorities in both legislative chambers, amid the discontent of voters due to the increase in cost of life.
