US President publishes pun with the phrase “I love the smell of Napalm in the morning” changing “Napalm” for “deportations”; Napalm was the chemical compound used by Americans to kill vietnamites in mass, burning up villages and people at the same time
United States President Donald Trump (Republican Party) published on Saturday (6.Set.2025) an assembly inspired by the film “Apocalypse Now” (1979), about the Vietnam War.
In the image, Trump appears characterized as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore, played by Robert Duvall, with military helicopters in the background and the famous phrase of the character adapted to government migratory policy: “I love the smell of deportations in the morning…” (“I love the smell of deportations in the morning”).
The original phrase is one of the most celebrated in the history of cinema: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning” (“I love the smell of Napalm in the morning”). In the movie, the character Kilgore, commander of the US Army Air Cavalry, refers to the use of Napalm – a gasoline -based incendiary chemist that destroyed integer villages in Vietnam, leaving thousands of dead and the smell of fuel in the air.
The sequence of director Francis Ford Coppola’s feature starts with Kilgore Air Cavalry reaching a vietnamese village by the sea to the sound of “Cavalcade das Valquírias”by Wagner. The landing of the troops is done in the midst of a shooting chaos, fire and bombs.
The eccentric lieutenant colonel puts part of his men to surf on the beach, one of several allegories of the film to show the madness of war. It also orders the bombing of a nearby area, where it believes the Vietconguies are. Airplanes play Napalm.
That’s when Kilgore squats and says the famous phrase. Here’s the image in the original scene of the movie “Apocalypse Now”:

In the image published on his social network, Trump also changed the title of the film to “Chipocalypse Now”. The pun Alludes to the chipotlesmoked pepper (usually Jalapeño red), widely used in Latin cuisine and commonly associated with Hispanic immigrants – recurring target of Trump’s deportation actions.
In the caption, the Republican wrote that “Chicago is about to find out why it is called the War Department”in reference to measures against irregular immigrants in the city. On Friday (5.set), an executive order of the president changed the name of the Department of Defense, also known as Pentagon, to.
The White House shared Trump’s publication on X, using helicopter emojis. Meme quickly viralized, accumulating millions of views, likes and shares.
